What Do You Do When Summer Is Here But Your Summer Body Isn’t!?

So it’s finally summer ! The temperature is rising, the sun is shining, the flowers are in bloom, people are out and friendlier and there’s so much more to do! With the heat comes shorts, skirts, dresses and bathing suits. Yup bathing suits. *insert dramatic music here* Summer is here but is your summer body?

No time flies and before you know it, you didn’t accomplish that goal of working out 3-5 times a week to prepare you for this moment. Now you feel regretful, ashamed and disappointed in yourself.

For the past two months, I have seen posts about the topic of summer bodies every single day on social media. Whether it be to encourage and inspire or to intimidate and give warning, you can’t escape it. Either way it causes dread and anxiety and I know life happens. You get caught up in your daily obligations on top of having to deal with all the out of the blue things that pop up but one thing’s for sure- time passes (If you need help with structuring your days and making clear plans to achieve your goals no matter how busy you are, click here to get your Organize Your Life Template. No time flies and before you know it, you didn’t accomplish that goal of working out 3-5 times a week to prepare you for this moment. Now you feel regretful, ashamed and disappointed in yourself.
But here’s some good news and another thing that’s for sure- you’re not alone. There are so many people like you who feel exactly how you do. Not that I’m saying that it’s okay to not commit to a goal but it’s never too late to start. There’s two ways you can- 1) you can start your life changing healthy routine. No lifestyle TODAY or 2) you can accept the body you’re in right now and flaunt it girl ! Either way you win.

Here Are 7 Easy Ways To Feel Confident This Summer !

1. Start a workout routine today!- If you don’t know where to start, check out my post on my favorite fit inspo girls on social media. They provide daily healthy, effective and achievable content to will get you the body you want but remember, you must commit and do your part !
2. Repeat the She 3.0 mantra: “I am a work in progress and complete at the same time.”- Even the people who workout regularly still want to improve. You can catch up but acknowledging where you are at the present moment is the first step.
3. Drop the unhealthy habits and all the unhealthy shit that goes with it!- It won’t help you girl. It’s packed with sugar, salt, and all the artificial ingredients and flavors that will continue to hold you back.
4. Stock up on some healthy good shit.- Healthy food can be yummy! Go to your nearest Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods (if you got it like that) and stock up on some snacks you can grab quickly when you feel to snack around and some ingredients to make a quick meal if you need something heavier. 5. Fake it ’til you make it. Wear what you want to wear now.- It’s hot! Just because you don’t have the perfect body you want right now, it shouldn’t stop you from wearing that sleeveless top that show off your arms or those shorts that show your legs. Trust me, I used to be so self conscious about my toes a few years ago. No matter how hot it was, I would never wear open toe shoes until one day it hit me- I was being silly. Yes there are people out there with prettier toes than me but what about those people with uglier and still wear whatever shoes they wanted without a care in the world!? I had to have the confidence so I started to wear open toe shoes. Of course I felt uneasy in the beginning but now, I wear them without a second thought.
6. Forget what people may think.- Half of them aren’t even thinking about you like you think they are and the other half that are won’t say it to your face. You win either way.
7. Pick something you can do right now that’ll give you an immediate confidence boost.- Do something you can do now that will make you feel pretty. Shave your legs. Shave your underarms. Get a wax or laser. Treat yourself to a facial or full body massage. All of these will make you feel better from the outside in. Some times it’s like that. You gotta reverse engineer.
Now a bonus step- promise me that you won’t let your current situation stop yourself from enjoying yourself this summer! There’s too much fun to be had and you deserve to have it! Yes I know it’s easier said than done but do one thing today that will get you one step closer to being the confident women you will become because you will become her.
